Summer is here and gone!

Long time no post!  I know I know I was doing so good at posting then I guess I got lazy. We had a good summer it just went way too fast.  Over the summer I did a wedding cake and grooms cake for a good friend of mine who I've known for about 20 years she grew up down the street from me and I was honored when she asked me to make her cakes.  Here are some pictures of the cakes.  The grooms cake was strawberry cake and chocolate butter cream icing.  The wedding cake was two layers of lemon and the top was vanilla.

Lots and lots going on this year.  Parker is in kindergarten and in tball.  Gearing up for Parker's "Golden Birthday" he will be six on the sixth man has time flown.  Lots of new things I want to work on.  hopefully I can find the time to create them.  Thanks for reading. :)

Madie's 1st Birthday Fun

We had my daughter's 1st birthday party over the weekend. We had our family and some of our friends over to celebrate our little one's bday. I made cupcakes for the occasion because that was her theme. Then I made candy lollipops. It was all a great success she looked adorable in her outfit I made her. I still can't believe she is already one. Thanks to everyone who made it. Now I get to take a breather and relax for a little bit before my next project. Till next time ;). Enjoy the pictures below.

My neices 2nd Birthday

So my niece turned 2 last week.  Her and my daughter are exactly one year and 5 days apart.  Her party was princess themed.  So I made her a castle cake along with her outfit.  The icing and I had some disagreements, but I was happy with the outcome it came out cute for my first time making this cake.  My daughter turned 1 yesterday and while I was sad most of the day because she is no longer a baby.  I am truly blessed too have two of the greatest kiddos around.  This year has literally flown by.  I count my blessings every day.  Here are some pictures of her cake and her blowing out her cake in her adorable outfit.  Enjoy! :)

Easter Fun!

Well it's the day after Easter and I am still full! Had a ton of good food yesterday with our families.  Every Easter I try and get Parker involved with helping me make the sweets.  So this year we made chocolate cupcakes from scratch with a bunny peep on top and speckled m&m's then we also made cake balls that were vanilla cake with cream cheese icing dipped in chocolate and Parker sprinkled them easter sprinkles.  Here are our finished products enjoy!

Not quite a cake but some yummy desserts

My best friend is getting married in April and we had a small shower over the weekend for her.  I made some yummy desserts with brownies and chocolate covered strawberries.  The brownies I used a heart cookie cutter and then covered them in white chocolate and then drizzled chocolate over top of them.  They were super yummy and looked very cute in my own personal opinion.  Have a great week everyone.

Second Post Look at Me Go!!

Well here I go with my second post amazingly enough. So over the weekend we celebrated my grandmother's 87th Birthday. I wanted to try something that I hadn't done before. So after looking online I decided I wanted to make her a purse cake. So originally I had covered the cake in fondant but after looking at it the next morning I was not happy with it so I took the fondant off and my husband and I redecorated it. It came out much better with just buttercream icing. I finally got to use this very neat Wilton Decorating Kit my parents had given me for Christmas it was alot easier than using the icing bags and not as messy either. Here are couple of photos of the cake.  I think I will try a differnet way next time but had a great time making it for my grandmother and was happy to celebrate her birthday with her.  Enjoy the photos.

First Post Yay!!!

So my initial reason to start this blog was to show my cakes, and to also show my journey as I go on as a budding cake decorator. By know means do I think I am a expert but I love making cakes and desire to learn more. I live in a fantasy world where I could do this everyday! LOL! But you never know what the future could hold. So here goes with my first blog spot aww kinda scary. I hope you enjoy and follow the blog with me to see my work get better and better at least I hope so. So here are couple of pictures of cakes I have already done.

This wedding cake was done for my husbands cousin. My sister in law and I made this cake. It was my first wedding cake, and my sister in law is such a good teacher.

This cake was done for my best friend and her wedding celebration. The theme was poker party. She wanted chocolate, and vanilla with raspberry filling. My husband helped with the cards we cut them out of cardboard then with wrote on them one for Jess and one for Shaun.

So the last cake for today is not edible but it sure is cute. I made this cake for my sister at her baby shower for her first daughter. This was a lot of fun and it's easy to get as creative as you want.

Stay tuned for more posts coming soon and thanks for looking.
