Second Post Look at Me Go!!

Well here I go with my second post amazingly enough. So over the weekend we celebrated my grandmother's 87th Birthday. I wanted to try something that I hadn't done before. So after looking online I decided I wanted to make her a purse cake. So originally I had covered the cake in fondant but after looking at it the next morning I was not happy with it so I took the fondant off and my husband and I redecorated it. It came out much better with just buttercream icing. I finally got to use this very neat Wilton Decorating Kit my parents had given me for Christmas it was alot easier than using the icing bags and not as messy either. Here are couple of photos of the cake.  I think I will try a differnet way next time but had a great time making it for my grandmother and was happy to celebrate her birthday with her.  Enjoy the photos.

First Post Yay!!!

So my initial reason to start this blog was to show my cakes, and to also show my journey as I go on as a budding cake decorator. By know means do I think I am a expert but I love making cakes and desire to learn more. I live in a fantasy world where I could do this everyday! LOL! But you never know what the future could hold. So here goes with my first blog spot aww kinda scary. I hope you enjoy and follow the blog with me to see my work get better and better at least I hope so. So here are couple of pictures of cakes I have already done.

This wedding cake was done for my husbands cousin. My sister in law and I made this cake. It was my first wedding cake, and my sister in law is such a good teacher.

This cake was done for my best friend and her wedding celebration. The theme was poker party. She wanted chocolate, and vanilla with raspberry filling. My husband helped with the cards we cut them out of cardboard then with wrote on them one for Jess and one for Shaun.

So the last cake for today is not edible but it sure is cute. I made this cake for my sister at her baby shower for her first daughter. This was a lot of fun and it's easy to get as creative as you want.

Stay tuned for more posts coming soon and thanks for looking.
